I think Jaiden used to be a Cucurucho.
She has always had quite the connection to them, helped one of them (all of them? The Federation generally?) years ago, we’ve seen evidence they can turn someone from a human person into a Cucurucho, and we’ve seen evidence that Cucuruchos/Federation employees like Walter Bob can slowly regain their humanity, and develope individuality even if they don’t necessarily regain memories.
Jaiden has no idea where she’s from, or who she was before a handful of months ago. Her character very much seems to be in a constant state of figuring out what she wants, who she is. Even today she said that she doesn’t solve enigmas, or do much of that type of in depth thinking about the island. She told Cucurucho that she wants to be told where to go, who to talk to, what to do. Similar to the simple orders that other Federation Employees live off of? I think its not that far off!
She went to the Federation, and was allowed to pick an office. She wasn’t welcomed, she was welcomed back. The other Cucurucho’s there knew her. They worked with her before. She helped them. Cucurucho today complained that one of them, the one sleeping in the back room was imperfect. Too eccentric, too casual.
I think he came to get Jaiden to replace him. I think he came to give her her old job back.
